Get your Sports Club a Facebook Page in 5 Minutes

When it comes to growing your club online, Social Media is not just vital for achieving success; it has become almost the standard. With everyone increasingly using social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and many more kids and parents are becoming far more media savvy and connected.

Young people no longer asking their parents when it comes to finding information on something, they search for them on whatever medium that is en vogue.

Gone are the days of looking up the Phonebook, the local paper or even calling a friend who may know, now we Google it.

We are also discovering products and services, as we used to in the local paper, by word of mouth or on a noticeboard on social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Not quite getting where we are going with this?

Well, what we are getting at is this; if your club is lacking a social media account (s), you’re club is missing out on the increasing amount exposure it could get.

Not to worry, though, we have helped many clubs in the same situation.

We have pulled together this guide to help you setup your clubs Facebook account in around 15 minutes or less….yes that’s all it’ll take.

It doesn’t matter if you’re starting out with social media or a struggling novice we’ll get your club a presence on Facebook in the next 15 minutes.

Ok, let’s get started!

Set the timer to start…now!

1.Setting up your clubs Facebook Page:

Log into your own personal Facebook account. Now, if you’re one of the few people – and by golly I mean really few people, who have yet to get a personal Facebook account now’s the best time to go and create one.

Simply Log onto www.facebook.com and follow the sign-up instructions and you’ll be good to go.

Just to be sure we’re literally on the same page so far it should look something like this:

Already have a Facebook account? Even better, slide your mouse cursor over to the left side of your newsfeed you will see the tab ‘CREATE PAGE’.

Go ahead and click that tab.

2. Choose A Category

Now, once on this page, you’ll see a couple of options depending on what type of page you wish to create. Since we are talking about your club, it will be up to you which one you prefer to go with, as our test club has a clubhouse we’ve put it down as a Business or place, click ‘Local Business’ or ‘Place.’

Click the option and continue to fill out the form that will pop out. You can then choose options you want to classify your club as a Sports Club, Amateur Sports team etc. etc…you decide, it’s your club.

Fill out all the information about your club and then click ‘get started.’

Again just checking in that we’re on the same page together it should look something like this.

Fill out the form and make sure to put in the best description that you can think of for your club.

Once you’re done, click ‘Get Started’ and then you will be automatically redirected to the next page.

3. Add A Profile Picture

On this page, you have to choose and set your profile image. We recommend that you upload your clubs logo for this, as it will stand out and also be the picture next to all of your posts (things you write about) in the future.

4. Add A Cover Photo

After inserting your clubs profile image, you’ll be redirected to the next page and asked to “add a cover photo”. Your cover image is the background pictures for your page, so put something interesting to your club, for example, a view of the grounds, the juniors etc.

This is where your Cover Photo will go

Once you’ve added your cover picture, it will automatically take you to your clubs new page.

So there you have it, folks. You’re now is online with its very own Facebook page.

Congratulations on joining the social family.

Your social media journey has only just begone.

Be sure and mention us in your first post.

Good luck.
